You can tell a lot about a person by the boots that they wear. Whether you prefer the classic and timeless or more of a contemporary style, boots can make any outfit stand out. However, some boots are only about the looks and don’t deliver on quality and comfort. We go hands-on with Vintage Foundry’s Jimara High-Top Boot and put it to the test to find out what it’s really all about. Photography: TStoff for The Primary.

First Impressions

The Jimara arrives in a beautiful dark brown leather upper that sits on a contrasting white rubber outsole. A moc toe, topstitched detail, a back pull tab and lace-up closure with speed hooks complete the sleek rugged look. The faux fur lining was a welcomed surprise that tucks beneath your jeans and makes for a comfortable experience. You will also find leather lining for a classy look that’s also very comfy. However, one of the most important details to note is the prized Goodyear welt construction for water-resistance and to let you resole your boots if needed.

Comfort & Fit

Comfort is one of the most important things when it comes to boots and these are comfortable as they come. Lightweight and durable, the rubber sole allows for all day wear and provides the traction and support you need throughout the day. The Jimara ranks up there with many of the other boots we’ve tested and makes for an easy wear with no break-in time. We’d suggest going with your traditional boot size. The Jimara runs a bit big, but not big enough to size down.

Closing

The Jimara delivers across the board when it comes to quality and comfort. We love the look and feel of the boots with supple brown leather on the upper and a perfect rubber outsole. It’s got that classic style we always look for and is ideal for everyday wear. It’s unique in its own way and different from of the other boots you’ve seen on here and that’s a good thing. It adds some variety to our boot choices and will be reaching for these more often than we thought. For just under $150, these boots are an easy choice and you can get them here.
