It’s been over a year since we last went hands-on with DuFrane and their beautifully crafted Bergstrom Watch. The Austin-based brand returns with their latest timepiece, the Barton Springs 656 Diver Watch. While the watch has all the functionalities of your traditional diver watch, it’s unique design and DuFrane styling really sets it apart from the rest. First Impressions

As mentioned above, we instantly fell in love with the watch for it’s classy and timeless look and feel. In our opinion, it’s just the right size and won’t doesn’t make our wrist look overly small or large. We opted for the the black sun burst dial option with deep blue also being available. The Barton Spring 656 Diver Watch comes equipped with a tri-colored nylon NATO-styled strap as well as your choice of a silicone strap. We swapped one of DuFrane’s leather bands in for the time being, but also do enjoy having the alternatives to choose from as well. You can either dress it up or dress it down, it’s really versatile for just about any occasion.

Construction

Much like their Bergstrom Watch, DuFrane makes sure to go all out for the ultimate dive watch. It is made up of a 316L stainless steel brushed finish case, domed sapphire crystal with dual anti-reflective coating and a double-sealed screw-down crown to keep it watertight and resistant to damage. It also features a Swiss automatic mechanical movement that is powered by the movement of your arm and additionally boasts a reserve time of 38 hours. While the watch looks great, it is also completely functional and can go to a depth of 656 feet as its name suggests. Lastly, each watch is individually numbered out of 300 at the back and ensures your place in a select group.

Closing

This limited edition watch is a must-have for anyone who is in the market for a diving watch or is simply looking for a new timepiece and likes this style. There’s a lot of love that went into it and even more attention to detail as DuFrane dreams up the ultimate watch.
