11 American Menswear Brands to Shop Now and Reset Your Fourth of July Style

Every year around this time, otherwise reasonable men make a terrible decision.

No, not purchasing illegal fireworks at the gas station.

Worse.

They buy one of those aggressively patriotic shirts plastered across the front with a photorealistic bald eagle, an indeterminate number of stars (and/or stripes), flames for some reason, and enough polyester to melt into their skin should they stand within six feet of a grill.

Is it funny because it’s ugly? Or ironic? Unclear. But if your shirt is technically flammable, it shouldn’t be your barbecue uniform.

This Fourth of July, skip the novelty merch, and instead, celebrate America by supporting the designers and brands helping define modern American style.

Many of these labels manufacture at least some of their collections domestically, all are rooted in classic American design, and every one makes clothes you’ll still be excited to wear long after the last sparkler burns out.

Buck Mason

patriotic purchase: Field-Spec cotton heavy tee

Few brands capture effortless American style right now better than Buck Mason. Think: perfectly broken-in T-shirts, rugged chore coats, great-fitting jeans, and elevated basics that look like they’ve been favorites for years—even when they’re brand new.

Alpha Industries

patriotic purchase: B-15 heritage bomber jacket

If you’ve ever worn a bomber jacket, you have Alpha Industries to thank. The company has been making military-inspired outerwear for decades that somehow feels just as relevant today as when they were first issued.

Sid Mashburn

patriotic purchase: hand-rolled pocket square

Sid Mashburn proves that getting dressed like an adult doesn’t have to mean looking stuffy. The Atlanta-based designer specializes in relaxed tailoring, beautiful sport coats, and timeless menswear that makes you want to RSVP “yes” to more weddings.

Taylor Stitch

patriotic purchase: The Apres Pant in washed indigo

Built with durability in mind, Taylor Stitch makes clothes that get better with age. Their rugged overshirts, denim, and everyday essentials strike that sweet spot between outdoorsy and city-friendly. We put a dad in a railroad stripe chore coat from the label in this season of Reset Mode and he immediately declared it his new favorite jacket.

Flint and Tinder

patriotic purchase: canoe short in sable poplin

If your style leans toward “guy who knows how to build a campfire but also appreciates good espresso,” Flint and Tinder should be on your radar. The house brand from Huckberry is known for its American-made staples including a waxed trucker jacket that feels lived in the first time you put it on.

Todd Snyder

patriotic purchase: linen shirt in burnt red

Few designers have done more to modernize classic American sportswear than Todd Snyder. The J.Crew alum seamlessly blends Ivy League prep, military inspiration, modern tailoring, and athletic influences into clothes that somehow feel both timeless and completely current.

Billy Reid

patriotic purchase: Shoals denim shirt

Southern craftsmanship meets understated luxury. Billy Reid’s soft tailoring, premium fabrics, and lived-in details make the Alabama designer’s collections ideal for guys who want their wardrobe to whisper rather than shout. In the first episode of Reset Mode, a New Jersey dad looking to upgrade his casual wardrobe slipped into this knit polo from the brand and you could see his confidence grow about ten levels.

Alex Mill

patriotic purchase: linen camp shirt in scarlet

Founded with the goal of creating the perfect shirt, Alex Mill has since expanded into a collection of clean, unfussy essentials. Everything feels easy to wear, thoughtfully designed, and just polished enough without trying too hard.

Knickerbocker

patriotic purchase: ‘Beefy’ cotton oxford shirt in navy stripe

Inspired by New York City’s rich manufacturing history, Knickerbocker makes sturdy, vintage-informed clothing with an emphasis on craftsmanship. Their workwear-inspired pieces feel authentic without crossing into costume territory.

Save Khaki

patriotic purchase: waffle pullover hoodie in ash

Minimalism never goes out of style, and Save Khaki has quietly perfected it. Known for exceptionally soft fabrics and impeccably simple basics, the brand proves that sometimes the most patriotic thing you can wear is a really, really good T-shirt.
