Last month, we spent a few weeks in Europe discovering cities like Lisbon, Porto, Amsterdam and Copenhagen. We packed Thursday Boots’ Captain Boot and decided to put it to the test across our travels. You might not think to pack a pair of boots on your next trip, but read why we think it’s perfect for your next adventure. Photography: Monsieur Leisure for The Primary.

First Impressions

Having already reviewed the Captain in Terracotta, we knew what we were in for when it came to first impressions. However, the Dark Olive WeatherSafe™ Suede caught us by surprise. It’s a color that really looks great on the boot and offers a completely different style than Terracotta. It’s really subtle and the suede is soft to the touch. We decided to style it with our favorite black jeans for a more sophisticated look.

Comfort & Fit

When deciding which footwear to take with you on a two week trip takes a lot of consideration, but we were extremely happy with our decision. The Captain boasts a long list of features tailored toward comfort. From the Poron® Antimicrobial Shock Absorbing Insole to the cork-bed midsole to the DuraEVA™ Comfort Strip, it was a no-brainer. In addition, the studded rubber outsoles helped with stability and grip as we often had to climb steep hills and deal with cobblestone streets. Finishing off the boots is Goodyear Welt Construction, if you do ever need to resole your boots. GYW construction also makes your boots water resistant.

Closing

Looking back at Captain and it’s ability to handle a two week trip full of walking and rain, it’s safe to recommend this pair as an easy-to-wear boot during your travels. Between the cobblestone streets and difficult weather, we couldn’t have been happier with it’s performance. The Captain is extremely comfortable and made with materials designed to last. Whether you’re looking for a pair of boots for your next trip or just something to wear on the daily, head to Thursday Boots to get yourself the Captain.
