With 2018 coming to a close, we go hands-on with yet another pair of boots that could be one of our favorites this year. Based out of Buffalo, NY, Parkhurst sources and manufactures their boots in the United States, which has provided countless jobs across the country. They also go through American distributors to get materials that may be made overseas in order to support American jobs in the supply chain. Instead of automating the process, they’re doing things by hand with over 200 steps going into each pair of boots. With that said, we take a closer look at the Delaware boot as we put it to the test.

First Impressions

Right off the bat you can tell that this isn’t your average boot. It features a beautiful Horween Chromexcel leather upper that will fight off difficult weather conditions and still have a gorgeous patina. A Dainite rubber studded outsoles provides durability and is applied with a Goodyear welt so you can resole your boots in the future. Other notable details include a cap toe and broguing to give it that classy look.

Comfort & Fit

While boots can often times be heavy, clunky and overall uncomfortable, the Delaware is a pair you’ll want to wear over and over. A solid stacked leather heel base and mild cushioning foam at the heel ensure a comfortable experience. You’ll want to size down from your typical boot size as this pair runs big. Rounding out the boots is glove leather on the interior for the perfect look and feel.

Closing

There’s so many things to like about this boot from the way it looks to the fact that is made by hand and sourced in the U.S. At only $370, this is a wise investment whether you’re a picky boot aficionado or looking to start your collection. From the materials to the attention to detail, Parkhurst puts a lot of love into this boot and it shows. You’d expect to pay more than double in comparison to other brands making it a great buy.
