We spent the weekend exploring Los Angeles’ Arts District, but not without discovering a new coffee shop along the way. If you’re like most people, you need a good coffee to get your day started. That is exactly what we found and this also gave us a chance to test out Sun Nation’s Standard Bifold Wallet in Chestnut. With training at a traditional leather atelier in Italy, Lizzy Gladstone runs this leather goods studio and designs really interesting pieces. First Impressions
One of the key details that separate this wallet from the rest is the stamped pattern and it can also be found on a number of their other products. While the wallet is also available without the pattern, it really makes it a unique piece. We were also a big fan of the color of the wallet as it’s not too light nor too dark. The Standard Bifold is also not too big in size so it will fit in your pocket comfortably even when you add cards and cash. You get the feeling that it will hold up for years to come and age beautifully over time.
Construction
Made from 100% vegetable tanned leather, the wallet feels really smooth and great in your hand. The Standard Bifold is made by hand in Sun Nation’s studio with careful attention to detail and quality. The advantage to this bifold over other styles is that has ample room for anything you need to carry with you. Six card-slot pockets, a long bill pocket, and two hidden pockets offer a ton of storage space without feeling bulky. It makes for a great travel companion or daily wallet when you need to carry a combination of cash and cards while being able to stash away everything else in the hidden pockets.
Closing
For a handmade wallet of this quality, the Standard Bifold comes with an affordable price tag of $125. We love that it has a slim design with more than enough storage space for your cards, cash, etc. The geometric pattern offers a unique design with an option to go without the pattern if you so desire. Lastly, the leather used is 100% naturally vegetable-tanned and comes in a beautiful shade of brown with other colors like natural, black and burgundy also available.
